Model General Information
Fongers: A Groningen based brand of great reputation. Fongers was mainly into the high segments of what is known abroad as Dutch-bicycles. The royal family of Holland was among their clients.

Around 1970 Fongers was acquired by the group also Batavus was part of.

The Fongers Professional roadbike has a lot in common with the Batavus Professional. Lugs are Bocama and for tubing you could choose between Reynolds 531 Competition or Columbus SP. The Fongers was available as full bike with Nuovo Record or Dura-Ace or frameset only including Nuovo Record or Dura-Ace headset.

Fongers was a Dutch marque and a steady supplier to the predominantly bicycle riding populace since the early 1890s. They also supplied the Dutch military with bikes, perfecting the commuter, utilitarian style vehicle.
