General Information
Grimeca are an Italian motorbike component manufacturer. They are well known amongst motor bike enthusiasts for their well made and widely available wheels.

Grimeca's expertise in making motorbike wheels spilled into making the outrageous Bassano "3 Razze Avio", "5 Razze Avio (S)" and "6 Razze Avio" wheelsets from caste and milled aluminium, which were the company's only known foray into the cycling world; although, it is thought that some branded brake callipers are designed and made by Grimeca for other brands, however. The three spoke 3 Razze Avio from 1990 are very rare. They are designed for down-hill racing. Razze Avio means Aviation Racing in Italian. The 6 spoked wheels are the lightest but are still fairly substantial.
History
This is an attempted translation(ish) of the Grimeca website history:

1950/1955 Founded,
1955/1960 Produced wheels, gear rings and other parts for motorbikes,
1960/1965 Started working on Aluminium,
1965/1970 Grew hugely,
1970/1975 Became a force in innovation; making wheels and brake discs for Ducati and SWM. Made hydraulic parts for Sachs,
1975/1980 Innovated in OEM parts and installed CAD/CAM manufacturing.
1980/1985 Developed the concepts of scientific production,
1985/1990 Flexible automated manufacturing,
1990/2000 Certified for quality on an international basis (ISO 9001:2000),
2006 Started to provide after market support.

Sadly no mention of their bike products - except that there is a downloadable flier (in the English language options) that lists the 3 spoke wheelset as having been made from 1990 onwards.
