General Information
Very narrow sprint saddle with no saddlebag loops. This saddle was introduced in 1948 along with B27, B37 and B57 lightweight saddles. All of these featured aluminium cantle plates, copper rivets, and stainless steel rails. The B47 Champion Sprint and the B57 Champion Swallow are possibly two of the rarest Brooks post war saddles. Normally used with aluminium/stainless steel seat post clamps also, both these and the saddle cantle plates were prone to failure which may be why production ended around 1952 ?

 One of the oldest cycling companies still in business, Brooks of England is most well known for the cycling component John Boultbee Brooks invented in 1865: the leather cycling saddle.  The Brooks company has been owned by a number of different parent companies over the years as detailed in the History section.
