Marten Gerritsen: "convert two cable operated brakes to a back pedal brake. The catch on the tensioning pulley jams the chain, and two brake cables are pulled with equal force to enable you to skid the rear wheel or something. If you want to back pedal without braking there is a third cable which can lift the toggle which catches the chain."
