| Garry Buys is the designer and creator of Vincolo frames. Garry started out in 1978 as a trainee cycle mechanic and frame builder under the guidance of Frank Clavis, then a well known frame builder and cycle store owner. At that time in New Zealand there were very few frame makers and imports of quality frames were very difficult to get. This frustrated Garry and he was unimpressed with what was then available in the New Zealand market. In 1984 Garry went to the USA to spend time studying the designs coming out of America. Garry’s frames had superior handling over most other frames of the day as he had a true feeling for the steering geometry best suited to each size of bike. |
