Model General Information
This Viner Special Professional is supposed to be 1978 modell. It is wearing the worldchampion decal. Viner won it's first Worldchampionship (on the track) in 1978. The frameset is entirely made of Reynolds 531 tubing. There is no underchroming at all. Only the forkbridge is chromed. The lugs show a heart not the star. The drivetrains are linked on top of the bottombracket. Dropouts are Campagnolo. Width of the rearstay is 122 mm.
I tore this bike of the trash. At first I completed the rests of the Shimano 600 EX arabesque group. Meanwhile, due to a "dura ace equipped" label on the seat tube I changed partially to Dura Ace first & second generation parts.
As shown the bike has a weight of 9,8 kg with pedals.
The picture shows my L'Eroica 2011 setup:
Shimano 600 EX crankset with DA rings & 600EX frontderailleur & customized shifters, 600 EX headset
Sugino bottom bracket
Dura Ace EX brakes, brakelevers, rear derailleur
Cinelli Giro d'Italia handlebar an 1A stem
Selkof seatstay and Selle Italia Turbo saddle
Gipiemme Sprint pedals
exceptionally equipped with an Ambrosio Durex Super Élite 19 rim wheelset using Shimano Santé hubs (7-speed)
