History |
Founded in 1906 by Giorgio Enrico Falck, grandson of an engineer and steel specialist from Alsace, as Societá Anonima Acciaerie & Ferriere Lombarde in Dongo (Prov. Como). Relocation of production to Sesto San Giovanni (Milano).By 1971 Gruppo Falck was Italy's largest steel producer. Falck Tubi produced tube sets for frame building in the 1970s and 1980s, but never became as well known as Italian market leader Columbus, not least because Falck frames were unmarked or marked by very decent decals. However, the tube sets were used worldwide, e.g. by Olmo, Legnano, Concorde, Titan, Enik, Albuch-Kotter, etc.
In the course of the steel crisis, Falck shifted to the production of gas power plants under their subsidiary "Sondel" in the 90s. |
