General Information
The later Criterium rear derailleur had red plastic plugs at the pivots, and a 1974 version had a different shaped pulley cage. Mid-level derailleur, often found on affordable French race/sport bicycles in the 70's.  Great design (actually the same as the SLJ's) and nice shifting, despite the use of Simplex's ubiquitous Delrin for the pivot part and the plates (those rigidified with steel).

Known for their black plastic (Delrin) derailleurs during the "bike boom" of the 1970's, they were at the forefront of innovation over the years, producing such highly regarded items as the Super LJ derailleurs, Retrofriction shifters, and very popular line of seat posts.
