| The very earliest Ti road bicycle. Speedwell started work with Titanium as a material for frames for BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) with in a motocross frame, but as the project with BSA returned limited results Speedwell later moved to producing road racing bicycle frames under their own name. In 1973, Ocana used a Speedwell Titanium on select mountain stages in his win in the Tour de France over Eddy Merckx. |
