Don't you mean highly polished rather than chrome-plated? Last time I checked I was unaware of any feasible possibility of adhering chrome to aluminum.

You cannot plate directly onto aluminum-based materials, but it is an easy material to plate if you properly prepare the substrate. It can be zinc-plated by first using a zincate process followed by either a cyanide or acid zinc plating solution; then copper plated, then chrome or gold plated.
