Since I cannot edit my own comments: all Reynolds 531 double butted tubing, Reyonolds fork blades with Campagnolo fallouts, Nervex lugs. Oscar made this for for me 1962. Unlike his frames this one was not chrome-plated because I couldn't wait... I was 18 and was desperate to get on the track. Everything is original except the Miche pedals - orignal were Campagnolo pista - including the Unica Nitor saddle.
LOOK KG 86 "Bernard Hinault"sbarner10/24/2025 01:00 PM
There is a photo of Lemond climbing Alp d'Huez in yellow riding a silver-painted Look/TVT frame with a Reynolds sticker on the fork. The carbon forks had a reputation for being squirrely, so the substitution is no surprise, though one would think they would have left off the decal. I have a mid-1986 model that has the "spiel" in English on the right side and French on the left. Hinault's name appears nowhere on the frame.
Colin Cape chelmsfordZumkopf09/19/2025 12:58 PM
Colin Cape was one of dozens of independent, small-shop British frame makers in the 1970s. He made a high-quality Reynolds 531/Campagnolo dropouts frame, most of them aimed towards criterium-type riding and racing. They do not command a premium in the vintage market and when found can usually be purchased at bargain rates.

Just to be clear: a logical argument *could* be made for classifying Kharkov's products as "Soviet", or to file them under products from "the USSR". Setting aside the geohistorical process by which Ukraine was subsumed into the Soviet empire, that would at least be factual. But that is NOT the case here: they are being described as "Russian", which Ukraine was not. During the Soviet period, Russia was a SUBSET of the USSR. Ukraine was ALSO a SUBSET of the USSR. Your logic is as absurd as describing an Indian product made during the Raj as "British", just because India happened to be part of the British Empire at the time.
Kharkov XB3 (Road Sport)dandycycle05/12/2025 12:33 PM
No, it *doesn't* make sense to classify it as "Russian". Russia was, and is, a country. During the Soviet era, it was a country *within* the Soviet Union, just as say, Georgia or Estonia was. We would *still* distinguish an Estonian product from the Soviet era as "Estonian". If a product was made in Turkey in say, 1910, would we TODAY be classifying it as having been made in "the Ottoman Empire"? Nope. We would describe it as "Turkish". Finally, it is deeply offensive to Ukrainians TODAY, who have suffered under 25 years of Russian oppression, to have the products of their ingenuity and craftsmanship, as "Russian" simply because Russia had historically invaded and occupied them, and forced them to be described as being part of their empire.
Huretgugie03/09/2025 07:21 PM
Huret rear dropouts have a derailleur stop at the 4 o'clock position, which I believe only works on some older Huret derailleurs (mostly Jubilee rear mechs). This is in contrast with the Campagnolo "standard" 7 o'clock stop.

Enough with the off topic, blatant ad for your pest control business.
Plume Sport (Road Race)pearlsforpigs01/30/2025 04:00 AM
Plume sport have mostly 'PS' stamped in bottom bracket and fork Not to confuse with 'Plume Vainqueur' or just 'Plum' This is another Belgian brand, there are no connections between the brands (I tried to add some pictures, but for some reason, it's not possible...)
