General Information
6sp version of the Shimano 600EX low flange freehub.  There were also high flange and 5speed versions of this same hub.  Weight is for both front and rear hub, 126mm rear hub.  The 124mm hub was only about 3 grams lighter.  Shimano packaged the cassette along with the hubs in this early setup, yielding an interesting mix of model numbers including: 6261 (silver 6sp), 6260 (black 6sp), 6251 (silver 5sp) and 6250 (black 5sp).  Add 2 to the last digit to get the corresponding large flange version model numbers.

Details:   The Shimano 600EX groupset was made in a multitude of variations and generations.  Often, more than one variation was being produced at the same time.  Included in the Shimano 600EX groupsets is the easily recognizable Arabesque group with detailed engravings and designs.  The 600EX group went from friction shifting at its introduction, to 6 speed SIS shifting later in the 1980's.
