The early (1988 - 1990) Campagnolo Athena Brakeset:-

Brake Levers were supplied with grey brake hoods and the brake levers had no hole in the top.

Brake Calipers had a white o-ring on the adjuster and the brake pad holders were rectangular (no curves).

Details:   Athena was situated below Chorus in the Campagnolo line up through the 1999 model year when it was replaced by Daytona, which later become known as Centaur.  The Athena name has now been reborn in the Campagnolo line up starting with the 2010 year, now situated between Chorus and Centaur.
